LOL & Save A Pet: Lower Hud’s Funniest Person

This Summer you can help four legged friends who howl at the moon by making two legged friends howl with laughter at Lower Hud’s Funniest Person contest, July 14-Aug 4 in Piermont, NY.

A percent of the proceeds from this event will benefit the Hudson Valley Humane Society. Area residents are invited to ‘€œget their funny on’€ and participate over four Thursdays at Slattery’s (Restaurant) Landing in Piermont.

Wannabe funnymen and woman can download a registration form at — but most do so by July 5.

Slattery’s is located at 5 Roundhouse Road in Piermont, New York. Call 845-398-1943 for reservations.

For more than a century, Hudson Valley Humane Society has promoted the cause of animal welfare through sheltering abandoned and unwanted animals and seeks adoptive homes for animals. HVHS believes it can eliminate many of the causes of abuse, neglect, and abandonment of animals as well as the disappointment experienced by many pet owners through education, training, and community service.

Lower Hud’s Funniest Person Contest is being produced and sponsored by comedy promoter and Piermont resident and Ladies of Laughter founder and producer, Peggy Boyce and Palisades Talent Agency, Admire Entertainment and the Comic Bible.  Admire represents such comedy luminaries as filmmaker, John Waters, comedians from NBC’s Last Comic Standing, Dat Phan, ANT and Tammy Pescatelli, among others.
