Rock Co Transit Fares To Rise on Monday

Rockland County, May 13 — Come Monday, there will be a change in the air for Rockland County mass transit riders. And it means they will need more change to ride the Tappan Zee Express and TOR buses.

Beginning Monday, May 16, the TZx (TAPPAN ZEExpress) cash fare will be $3. Transfers to a second bus will cost 50¢. Discounted fares for senior citizens and people with disabilities will be $1, with a transfer cost of 25¢

The TOR (Transport of Rockland) cash fare will be $2. Transfers to a second bus will cost 50¢. Discounted fares for senior citizens and people with disabilities will be 75¢, with a transfer cost of 25¢.

Saturday service on TOR Loops #1 and #2 will be discontinued and several late night trips (Monday – Friday) on TOR #59 will be shortened or discontinued due to low ridership. TOR #91 ‘€œDirect’€ trips (Monday – Saturday) between Haverstraw and Palisades Center will be eliminated, but the local TOR #91 route will still serve all stops. TOR #97 service will also be adjusted with minor alterations to the schedule.
