Nyack Schedules Budget Workshops

Nyack’s Village Board will hold at least three public workshop meetings to discuss the 2011-12 Village Budget. The meetings, which will cover the General Fund Budget and Water Department Budget for the upcoming fiscal year, will be held at 7p on Wed March 23, Thu March 31 and Thu Apr 7 at Nyack’s Village Hall.

‘€œThe creation of the budget is the single most important thing the Village Board does all year,” says Nyack Mayor Richard Kavesh. “That’s where we prioritize how we’re going to spend tax dollars and decide how high village taxes will be for the next year.” Kavesh says the VB will be reviewing each of the 600+ line items at the budget workshop meetings.

A Public Meeting will be held on Thu Apr 14 at 8p to discuss the final budget. NYS law requires the village to approve a new budget for the upcoming year by the end of April.
