“Hoops For Dana” Fundraiser, Mar 27

Hoops for Dana, a 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament, honoring the memory of Clarkstown School District student Dana Sassano, will be held on March 27 at Clarkstown North High School.

The event is being sponsored by the Clarkstown PBA, the Town Board and Town Supervisor Alex Gromack.

‘€œThe passing of Dana left our community grieving,’€ said Town Supervisor Gromack. ‘€œWe are proud that in this tragedy we can reflect on her life in a positive way, bringing together the community and her friends to raise money for a scholarship fund.’€ Seventeen-year old Clarkstown North Honor Student Dana Sassano suffered fatal injuries after a car crash December 2010.

All proceeds will go to the Friends of Dana Foundation which will support a scholarship in her name as well as to continue Dana’s mission of helping people in need.

Players in grades 3-12 can register on March 18. The fee is $20 per player which will allow teams of three to participate in 5 minute games for students

For more information about the event, please call 845-634-2189 or email hoops4dana@gmail.com.
