Rockland Lake: Look…But Don’t Touch. Or Walk.

For the first time in many years, Rockland Lake is frozen. But the park service says this ice is only for looking…not for skating, walking or fishing.

Rockland Lake staff confirmed that visitors to the state park can only admire the ice. Police were called to “escort several people off the ice” on Monday.

In other ice news, NY Waterway reopened ferry service between Haverstraw and the Metro North train station in Ossining on Tuesday. Ferry service was suspended on Jan 25 due to accumulated ice in the Hudson
