Slow For The Cause: Sunday Morning TZB Bikers

Ten years from now, anyone will be able to walk or bike across a new Tappan Zee Bridge. But cycling enthusiasts and supporters of the battle to beat Multiple Sclerosis get a head start on the rest of us this Sunday 9/25 between 6a and 12n.

Hundreds of cyclists will participate directly by riding in the Bike MS Southern New York which crosses the Tappan Zee and Bear Mountain Bridges. Drivers participation will be more indirect, slowing and showing patience during the Sunday morning cycling fundraiser for Multiple Sclerosis.

Bikers will have two dedicated car-free lanes to ride the three-mile Tappan Zee Bridge as they participate in the event which kicks off at 7:15a at Kraft Foods in Tarrytown. Riders can choose the 60 mile loop including both bridges or a shorter 20 mile ride.

See the event live on Sunday morning — or check traffic on the TZB anytime — by visiting the NYS Thruway Authority’s live webcam page for the NYC region.
