Village Board Highlights — Aug 26

Nyack, August 26 — Nyack will spend $53,000 to repair sidewalks on High Ave between Broadway and Franklin and Depew Ave between South Midland and Summit. $50,000 of the cost will be covered by federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) money.

Due to Sunday’s storm, there was a major flood in the DPW garage.  There was three feet of water in the building, causing considerable damage.  There was an evaluation of the building, and because the depth of the project it was recommended to engage a public adjuster, who would charge 5% of any funds acquired.  DPW staff have moved into a temporary trailer.

Village Administrator Jim Politi reported to the board that John Malesardi is the Village’s new Treasurer, and had his first day at work today.
