Rain, Rain…Go Away.

Rockland, August 22, 9p — The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Advisory for Rockland County with predictions of up to four inches of rain.

At 907 pm EDT heavy showers with embedded thunderstorms were moving Northeast across portions of the Lower Hudson Valley and Southwest Connecticut around 20 mph. Mesonet observations indicate that between 1/4 and 3/4 of rain is falling with these showers which combined with heavy rain from earlier today…is likely causing minor flooding of low lying and poor drainage areas. Storm total rainfall amounts across this region range between 1 to 2 inches with locally higher amounts of up to 4 inches.
