If you go to the top of Depew Avenue, you’ll see a rare site within the Village borders: new construction of single family homes. There are two homes being built by the Rockland Housing Action Coalition (RHAC), in partnership with the Village of Nyack.
RHAC is currently looking for qualified moderate income families to purchase these 3 bedroom/ 2 bath homes. The price is still being finalized, depending on the collection of federal and county subsidies obtained, but they will likely be offered at about $235,000, which is extremely affordable for Nyack. RHAC will help any interested family through the process.
Gerri Levy, RHAC’s executive director, says they planned to build three units, but one of the lots may be owned by the Thruway Authority (the ownership is unclear).
The units should be completed in October. If you are interested, please contact RHAC at 845-708-5799. You can also download the application by clicking HERE.
