Away Game for Village Board

By Richard Kavesh

The Nyack Village Board is “taking our show on the road” again.

Thursday night’s meeting of the Village Board will be held at the Waldron Terrace Community Room, located at 15 Highview Court in the Clarkstown section of our village. The meeting will start at 7:30, preceded by our normal workshop at 6:30. Here’s what’s on the agenda for this week.

This will be the second time that the Village Board has held a meeting up at Highview Court (the last was roughly a year ago) and the second time this year that we’ve taken our meetings out of Village Hall and brought them out into the community; we held our second January meeting at the Nyack Senior Center (90 Depew Avenue) and will be back there for our June 24th meeting as well.  We hope to see you at both meetings.

Now that the Village of Nyack has filled the critical role of Village Administrator, your village government has the following critical roles to fill: Treasurer (part-time) and Accountant (part-time). We also have the following vacancies on our various boards and commissions:

  • Planning Board (alternate member needed)
  • Zoning Board of Appeals (alternate member needed)
  • Nyack Housing Authority (two members needed)

If you’re interested in any of these positions or know anyone who is, please send your resume to me at mayor@nyack-ny.gov

P.S. Belated congratulations to the following new members of village government:

  • New Planning Board member Don Hammond
  • New Parks Commissioner J.C. Brotherhood
  • New member of the Nyack Housing Authority Brooke Malloy

Richard Kavesh is Mayor of Nyack, NY.
