Standpoint Arts Center in Nyack is holding its premiere national juried competition as the opening event for our budding new arts center. The theme for the national competition is “Environments.” This isn’t necessarily about eco-consciousness but more about the landscapes we create and in which we live.
Artwork inspired by an architectural landscape, an inner landscape, or a social landscape will be included in ‘€œEnvironments.” How we exist in-built environments, using surroundings that provide a setting, ranging from large scale to personal places, a social environment, which shows the culture in which an individual lives and interacts, or a natural environment where all things occur naturally.

The show is open to all 2D and 3D, including printmaking,painting, photography, small sculpture (see prospectus), fiber arts, quilting. (no video) Closing date is for submissions is June 20. The show opening is on Aug 5 from 5-8p.
Jurors are Augustus Goertz, a well known painter and photographer in the US and Europe and Amy Lipton, curator for EcoArtSpace in NY.
