Sirens To Sounds at Indian Point, Wed 1030a

The Indian Point Energy Center will conduct a four minute full volume test of the alert and notification sirens on Wednesday, May 5 at 10:30a.

In the event of an actual emergency, the four minute sirens don’t signal an evacuation but are a prompt to tune to WHUD 100.7 FM for important information.

A new system, installed in 2009, includes 172 sirens covering the ten mile emergency planning zone around Indian Point.
