“Lean On Me” Soul Legend Film Profile Sat Night

Rivertown Film presents Still Bill, an intimate portrait of soul legend Bill Withers, Saturday, April 24 at 7:30p at the Nyack Center.

Best known for his classics ‘€œAin’t No Sunshine,’€ ‘€œLean On Me,’€ ‘€œLovely Day,’€ ‘€œGrandma’s Hands,’€ and ‘€œJust the Two of Us,” Bill Withers dropped out of the music scene after his last recording in 1985. With his soulful delivery and warm, heartfelt sincerity, Withers has written the songs that have ‘€“ and always will ‘€“ resonate deeply within the fabric of our times.

He returns in Still Bill, to discuss his musical legacy, overcoming a childhood stutter, the pitfalls of fame and the satisfaction of life outside the spotlight, a life presented as soulfully as his music.

After the film, enjoy the r&b and jazz-tinged alternative soul music of special guest performer Adam Falcon
