Got Board?

by Richard Kavesh

The Village of Nyack has openings on the following boards:

  • Planning Board (need one alternate member)
  • Zoning Board of Appeals (need one alternate member)
  • Parks Commission (need one regular member)

Interested? Know anyone you can recommend? Please contact me at 353-1935 (h), 358-0229 (office), (914) 954-5100 (cell) or email at richard77@optonline.net

The next meeting of the Nyack Village Board is Thursday, April 8th. If you’d like to be on the agenda and have your topic listed, please email villageclerk@nyack-ny.gov. Alternatively, you can sign up to speak on the spot on Thursday night. You can also sign up to speak at the 8:00 public hearing on the Village Administrator or for any other public hearing.

When the unapproved minutes of our March 25th meeting were posted online yesterday, it was, I believe, the quickest ever period of time between one of our meetings and the posting of the minutes. We’ll aim to do even better in the future.

You also have a right to know as specifically as possible what we’ll be covering at our upcoming meetings, so we’ll be posting as detailed as possible an agenda of our upcoming meetings in advance so that important topics are not buried under such generic topics as “Reports from the Board,” “Reports to the Board,” etc. as they have been in past years.

The weekend’s off to a great start; enjoy it! And have a very happy and peaceful Easter.

Richard Kavesh is mayor of Nyack, NY.
