Rocklander Jimmy McNicholas, killed in a hit and run incident in Pearl River last year, will be remembered with a community blood drive on Tuesday, Feb. 23 sponsored by the Stony Point Police Benevolent Association.
The blood drive will be held from 3 to 9p at the Stony Point Police Department multi-purpose room, 79 Route 210 in Stony Point.
McNicholas was born and raised in Garnerville, attended St. Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Church in Garnerville, Albertus Magnus College of New Haven, Conn., and Rockland Community College.  He was a son, a brother, an uncle, and a friend, until his life was tragically cut short by a hit and run driver  on May 31, 2009.  The driver of that car has never been found.
Stony Point Police Benevolent Association asks that the community honor Jimmy’s love of life by donating blood.  By helping to save the lives of others in need, some good may come of this awful tragedy.
For an appointment or more information, call John “Jay” Wood, Stony Point PBA president, at 845-786-2422 or email jwood@stonypointpd.org.
