Library Budget Passes, Growney Elected

Nyack, Feb 9 — The Nyack Library budget was approved today by an almost three to one margin. In the runoff election for the trustee position, Michael Growney bested challenger Deirdre O’Hagen by only nine votes. A runoff election between O’Hagen and Growney was needed when both candidates received 107 votes during the Jan 11 library trustee election.

Yes: 473      No: 161

Trustee runoff election
E. Michael Growney: 179    Deirdre O’Hagen: 170

Nyack voters approved the budget by 284 to 80 votes. Valley Cottage cast 189 yes votes and  81 no votes for the budget.

Final results will be announced later this week by the Nyack Library.
