Spring is almost here and the Nyack Community Garden will soon be opening for the season.
Here’s how the News 12 blog describes the garden:
The Nyack Community Garden is a cooperative garden consisting of nearly 50 plots that sits just a few short blocks from downtown Nyack. It is located on land owned by the Robert Martin Corporation’€¦who donates the use of the land specifically for the garden.
The entire garden is enclosed by a fence, contains a well-supplied tool shed, and has an ample water supply. Each plot is about 150 square feet’€¦big enough to keep a family of four eating fresh veggies for the entire summer, and still have enough produce to donate to worthy causes aimed towards fighting hunger. Each plot-keeper pays a very modest fee, signs up for committee work, and maintains their own little piece of the earth.
