Walk To Help Haiti

by Richard Kavesh

Nyack, Jan 16 — I have already received pledges of nearly $300 for Haitian relief, but the best one came today from my mother (herself a 10+ year walker in AIDS Walk NYC). Her email from this morning reads as follows:

“I will match the contribution you make from the walk. Love, Madre”

My original proposal follows.

Let’s walk together to raise money for Haiti.

I will donate $2 per person per mile who joins me this Saturday morning to walk for Haitian relief.

All those interested in walking together can meet in front of Village Hall (9 North Broadway) Saturday morningĀ  1/16 at 10a. We’ll walk up North Broadway to the entrance of Nyack State Beach Park and back, which is 3 miles roundtrip (maybe longer if people want to). The longer we walk and the more people who come, the more I’ll donate. Example: 10 people x 3 miles x $ 2 = $60.

Look forward to seeing you there, Richard – 353-1935
