Nyack, Jan 15 — The Nyack Center and local retailer Trendsetters are collecting specific items to support Haitian disaster relief efforts. “Calls and concern have been coming in since the disaster in Haiti,” writes Nyack Center’s Kim Cross in a Jan 14 email to the community. “Many of the families and young people we serve are still trying to find information about their families,” she says.
Trendsetters is collecting baby formula, Parmalat, water, shoes, flashlights, batteries and first aid kits.

The Nyack Center, working with the Nyack Rotary, is also accepting donations for ShelterBox, an international relief effort to provide temporary housing during disasters. A demonstration ShelterBox will be at Nyack Center on Jan 18.
Additionally, The Nyack Center, Trendsetters and other Rockland County organizations are planning a fundraising event at Nyack Center.
