Blowout Fundraiser For Haiti at Olive’s

by Marianne Olive

Olive’s is holding a huge fundraiser on Sunday, January 31st at 5p till 4a. We will have at least eight bands of every genre for all musical tastes, continuously playing throughout the night. It will be the most enormous group of talent all in one big  venue.

The terrible tragedy that hit Haiti affected so many of our own Haitian friends and neighbors. I felt compelled to take an initiative and hold this fundraiser to help the Haitian survivors try to put their lives back into order with even the bare necessities of food, clothing, housing, medicine etc.

Olive’s is also collecting summer clothing, shoes, sheets and blankets which will be given to the Ramapo Haitian Relief Task Force to be sent to Haiti. Anyone can drop off any of these items to Olives now through the end of January. All sizes are needed.

The minimum donation is $5 but feel free to be more generous in helping these desperate people find relief. I am also working with Bonnie Fletcher from the American Red Cross who will be recieving the cash donation from Olive’s fundraiser.

Come out all of you and help our Haitian neighbors. For more information or for being added to the music roster, call Marianne at (845) 358-8540. I hope to see Nyack join together as a community and help support this Haitian disaster relief. I will be posting a list of the entertainment when it is compiled and complete. Thanks again for all your help! NYACK ROCKS!
