Kavesh, Foster, White Win in Nyack

Nyack, Nov 4 — Richard Kavesh won the mayor’s race last night, besting fellow trustee Denise Hogan by 85 votes (754 to 669). Jen White (918 votes) and Doug Foster (886) finished ahead of Maureen Dougher (435) in the Trustees race. More than 37% of registered voters in Nyack cast a vote in this election.

Thom Kleiner’s attempt to unseat incumbent C. Scott Vanderhoef as Rockland County Executive fell short. Vanderhoef captured 54% of the votes cast in Tuesday’s general election.

In Orangetown, Republicans won the Town Supervisor job and two Town Board Seats. Clarkstown re-elected their incumbents with the exception of 85 year old nine term incumbent John Maloney who lost his Town Board seat to 25 year old first time candidate Stephanie Hausner.
