Montreal’s senior monthly is having an ‘€œoh-my-god’€ moment raving about The Rockland Bakery (not to be confused with a Senior Moment).
The Senior Times says “it doesn’t get any fresher than this…rugalach, cherry, pineapple, blueberry or cheese danish, babkas, bowties, crumb buns, doughnuts, black and white cookies, brownies, cakes, pies ‘€“ and expect it all to be oversized, US-style.” (perhaps another clue about the shortcomings of the Canadian “single payer” system?)
Nyack’s Restaurant Row is to die for (featuring a 10- to 15-per-cent-off discount card good at 16 restaurants — even available outside of early bird special hours).
Marcello’s Ristorante and Lafayette Theatre in Suffern also get a mention. The author’s favorite place to stay? Best Western Nyack on Hudson. They even rave about the salsa dancing. Senior salsa-ing? Who knew?
