Nyack, Oct 17: A thousand white, red and gold balloons lit up the night on Saturday carried by participants in The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Light The Night Walk events to support the fight against blood cancers.
Each balloon represented someone whose life has been impacted by leukemia, lymphoma or another blood disease. White balloons represent survivors, red is for supporters and gold balloons are in memory of someone who was lost to to cancer.
Funds raised by the event support blood cancer research, distributing free educational materials for patients and families and providing financial assistance for patient transportation and medical expenses.
