Rockland County History Smack Down

The Historical Society of Rockland County hosts the first History Smack Down on Saturday 10/10 at 3p as Rockland historians Robert Goldberg and Robert Knight do battle with facts and opinions about life in Rockland before, during and after construction of the Tappan Zee Bridge.

Visit the The Tappan Zee Bridge: Transforming Rockland County museum exhibition and join in the discussion.

Was your uncle a High Steel walker on the bridge? Did you see your house rolling down the streets of Nyack to make way for the Thruway? Was someone in your family the “first one’ over the TZ Bridge in December of 1955? Bring your stories and add your voice to the discussion.

Admission: $7; $5 HSRC members; $3 children under 12.  Price includes admission to the lecture, the exhibition, The Tappan Zee Bridge: Transforming Rockland County and a tour of the 1832 Jacob Blauvelt House.

The Rockland Historical Society is at 20 Zukor Road New City, NY. For more information call HSRC at 845-634-9629 or visit www.rocklandhistory.org.
