Superblock, Smoking & Nudity on 9/10

The Village Board meets on 9/10 at 7:30p with a full agenda.  One item, which is a “public hearing,” continuing for several meetings until the Board moves on it, concerns Memorial Park.  It will restrict several activities, including going topless and smoking.

The Superblock development is on the agenda with a proposed resolution.  The one action in the resolution is to get a cost estimate from the Village’s grant writer to apply for money for a feasibility study that “would assess the type and scope of development which would be appropriate for the ‘superblock’ area.”

The Citizen’s Committee suggested an RFQ (request for Qualifications) followed by an RFP (Request for Proposals).  The current resolution will set in motion a process that will take an indefinite amount of time since it is dependent on obtaining grant money.

Under Old Business will be zoning code re-write,  snow ordinance, and street parking realignment.
