[singlepic id=39 w=160 h=120 float=right]Sept 14: Nineteen flatbottom boats arrived in Nyack today recreating Henry Hudson’s voyage 400 years ago. The flotilla arrived accompanied by music from a tiny dingy where a man played trumpet and greeted spectators at the Nyack Boat Club. The boats will hoist anchor and sail north near Hook Mountain and Nyack Beach State Park mid afternoon on Tues 9/15. To see a slide show of the Dutch flotilla, click The Dutch spent about $10 million backing the event which included sending the flotilla across the Atlantic and up the Hudson to Albany. It’s all in celebration of the 400th anniversary of Henry Hudson’s voyage of exploration on behalf of the Dutch East India Company.
