Absentee Ballots This Week

Quick, check your calendar: what are you doing on September 15? If you will be out of town and want to vote in the September primary, you had better add Wed 8/26 to your datebook, too.  That’s the deadline for absentee ballots requests to be received by the Rockland County Board of Elections. The 8/21 deadline for mailing it in has already come and gone.

The September primary features a race for mayor and two trustee positions on the village board in Nyack. Orangetown will elected a new supervisor and Clarkstown votes for a Town Clerk. Read about all of the races on the Elections 2009 page.

Absentee ballot applications are available from the Rockland County Board of Elections or the NYS Board of Elections. (Note: The Rockland County absentee ballot looks like someone spilled gravy on it. Is this even valid?) You can call the Rockland County Board of Elections at (845) 638-5172 (feel free to suggest that they re-scan their absentee ballot!)

Looking ahead, absentee ballots applications must be postmarked by 10/9 and received by the board of elections by 10/14 for the November general election.
