Nyack Schools Elect New Officers

The Nyack Schools Board of Education elected new officers at its July 7 annual reorganization meeting.

Amy Applebaum was elected president, Tom LaColla vice president and Claudette Clarke secretary. Applebaum replaces Bryan Burrell, who announced last month that he would be stepping down as president. Burrell has been a schools’ trustee for the 13 years, serving as a board officer for 12 years.

Applebaum previously served as board secretary and Clarke served as vice president last year. LaColla is serving his first term as a member of the school board.

Applebaum is a learning specialist and a Valley Cottage resident who is serving her second term on the board.

An audio podcast of the reorganization meeting is available from the Nyack Schools Website.
