More Rompin’ On Broadway

The Wed 6/24 Journal News includes an update on painting  the facade of The Romp Store on Broadway since last week’s Nyack Architectural Review Board meeting. There is also a heated debate related to Romp about the merits of art, free speech and civil discourse on the Yahoo NyackSocialScene group and NyackNewsAndViews.

The ARB asked Romp Store owner Carol McIlmurray to submit color choices for review within three days and to replace the artwork see-through glass within two weeks. The painting, which has continued since last week’s ruling, is considered a fire hazard that violates a cease and desist order issued by the village prior to the ARB meeting.

Nyack People & Places, a weekly series that features photos and profiles of citizens and scenes near Nyack, NY, is sponsored by Ellis Sotheby’s International Realty.
