Nyack’s Architectural Review Board will meet on Wednesday June 17 to hear public comments on the storefront facade at 17 N. Broadway, the former Ben Franklin Bookshop. Carol McIlmurray, CEO and President of The Romp Store, has applied to the board to make changes to the facade of the building.
The storefront has been the subject of complaints published on NyackSocialScene (links here and here) yahoo group and in letters to the Journal News. “It has been a blessing and a privilege to work on this art piece, piece by piece, day by day, moment to moment,” McIlmurray wrote on NyackSocialScene. “With out the original builders and visionaries that we celebrate in this awesome watertown, I would not have been so inspired to create my own vision and path.” The store plans to open on July 4th
The Architectural Review Board will meet on Wed 6/17 at 7:30p at Village Hall. You can follow the meeting “live” at http://twitter/NyackNewsNView.
