Village will tackle parking rates and noise ordinance

The Village Board meeting is this Thursday and will have two hot topics on the agenda: raising parking rates and reviewing the noise ordinance.

The proposed parking rate increases would include:

  • Meters will increase to 20cents/20minutes or 75cents/hour
  • Parking fines will increase from $15 to $25.
  • Overnight parking fines will increase.  They are currently at an already painful $25 a pop

Currently the noise ordinance is not being enforced after 11pm in the downtown area.  There has been push back from the downtown businesses who have had events shut down, which obviously impacts their business.  The Village will review options.
