Rockland Progressive Democratic Caucus

Democrats who reside in the county are invited to discuss the formation of The Rockland Progressive Democratic Caucus

Wednesday February 4, 2009 @ 7:30 p.m.
Nyack Village Hall
Many rock solid progressive democrats are frustrated with the current state of affairs in the Rockland County Democratic Party and in the Rockland and Town Committees. They don’t feel that the party is an effective organization that holds elected officials accountable to progressive principles. We wish to work for change in local Democratic politics, uphold Progressive principles, and give the party back to the people through this grassroots movement. We want to keep the Obama spirit alive and bring it to the Rockland Democratic Party. Join us as we begin to change Rockland County politics.
Agenda

I.     What is the purpose of a Democratic caucus? Why do we need one?

II.     How would it operate?

III     How do we get organized?

IV. Next Steps: The appointment of a working committee to draft a
charter; preliminary discussion of the charter

V. Upcoming Town and County elections

VI. Updates and discussion of local political issues
