MTA Fare Hike Hearing, Today at 6p Palisades Mall

Feb 2, 2009: Tarrytown MTA commuters would see a 27 percent increase in monthly passes, from $221 to $281, if proposed fare increases are approved. There’s a public hearing at the Palisades Center at 6p today take input from the community.

Local leaders, include Rockland County Executive C. Scott Vanderhoef are opposed to the plan. Vanderhoef has come out against the MTA’s plan to add a payroll tax for 12 counties that commute on MTA rails.

Speakers will be limited to three minutes of comments at community room at the Palisades Center on 2/2 from 6-9p.
