MLK and Inauguration in Nyack

Happy Martin Luther King Day! Nyack is a pro-Obama town and between MLK day and the inauguration, there will be plenty to do this week.  It is time to celebrate being an American.

Riverspace has a two day celebration starting today at 10am.  To follow Obama’s call to action today, you can give blood at Riverspace during its blood drive and health fair.  At noon in the theater you can see “The man and the Dream”.

There will be a commemorative service at the Pilgrim Baptist Church at 2pm, followed by live entertainment and a food festival at 4pm.

Riverspace’s Tuesday event is free, but sold out, where they will play MLK’s “I have a Dream” speech followed by live coverage of the inauguration.

You may be able to see the inauguration on a big screena at the Nyack Center.  The Nyack Center is also having an Inauguration Ball at 7pm on Tuesday, so bring your Obama gear and join in.  Tickets are available at the Center and the $20 price goes to support their activities.

Enjoy Nyack’s celebration!
