Fast Work Wins Award For Nyack Hospital ER

Nyack Hospital’s Emergency Department ranks in the top 10% of New York Hospitals in patient satisfaction and has been awarded the 2008 Compass Award from Press Ganey Associates for outstanding improvement in Emergency Department. Press Ganey recognizes organizations that demonstrate a commitment to improving patient satisfaction.

Nyack Hospital’s Emergency Room promises patients will receive medical care within 30 minutes of arrival. If care does not begin within the 30-minute standard, patients will receive a letter of apology and a gift certificate to Inserra Shop Rite Supermarkets.
A re-engineered Emergency Department using electronic medical records to provide bedside patient registration and bedside triage are a few of the innovations Nyack employed to improve client satisfaction. Up-to-the-minute ER wait times are posted online at Nyack Hospital’s Emergency Room Web page so patients can know their expected wait time before they go.

Editor’s Note: Has anyone visited Nyack’s Hospital in the last year? Can you offer any comments to the information we received in Nyack Hospital’s press release? Thanks for your help!
