Fast Work Wins Award For Nyack Hospital ER

Nyack Hospital’s Emergency Department ranks in the top 10% of New York Hospitals in patient satisfaction and has been awarded the 2008 Compass Award from Press Ganey Associates for outstanding improvement in Emergency Department. Nyack Hospital ER Press Ganey recognizes organizations that demonstrate a commitment to improving patient satisfaction.

Nyack Hospital’s Emergency Room promises patients will receive medical care within 30 minutes of arrival. If care does not begin within the 30-minute standard, patients will receive a letter of apology and a gift certificate to Inserra Shop Rite Supermarkets.
A re-engineered Emergency Department using electronic medical records to provide bedside patient registration and bedside triage are a few of the innovations Nyack employed to improve client satisfaction. Up-to-the-minute ER wait times are posted online at Nyack Hospital’s Emergency Room Web page so patients can know their expected wait time before they go.
