GPS Alert: Geocaching Walk in Tallman

Here’s an opportunity for tech fans, hikers and gamers. As well as children of all ages.

Wikipedia describes Geocaching is an outdoor treasure-hunting game in which the participants use a Global Positioning System (GPS) receiver or other navigational techniques to hide and seek containers (called “geocaches” or “caches”) anywhere in the world. Rockland County will host a geocaching tutorial and hike Saturday August 30 at 9am in Tallman State Park in Sparkhill.

A Rockland County trail guide docent will teach Geocaching using a Global Positioning System (GPS) as part of a 2-3 mile hike. Hikers should bring a GPS if they have one but it is not required.
