Muni Meters

The Muni Meters are in, and few things inspire so much passion, mostly negative from what I’ve heard.  I’ve heard stories of receipts not being given, of frustated shoppers in the rain, of women feeling unsafe returning to their car.  And I have also heard that the Village paid way too much for the meters and that there was no bidding process.  Does anybody know the story on how much they cost and if we overpaid for them?
