Walk The Line Back In Time

In the 1890s a 12-mile gravity driven spiral railway was built to haul tourists from a river front steamship landing to a hotel and resort area planned for Dunderberg Mountain in Rockland County. Although the resort was never built the railway was partially constructed and still exists.

A guided group walk will take place at Dunderberg Scenic & Spiral  Railway at 10a on Saturday, November 8th.

Walkers should meet at the parking area on the east side of Route 9W, approx. 1.1 miles north of the James Farley Bridge. This moderate walk, with some uphill climbs, will last about three hours. For more information visit the Rockland County Webpage, call (845) 708-7307 or e-mail rcamericorps@co.rockland.ny.us.
