Join the Historical Society of the Nyacks in commemorating the 25th anniversary of September 11th with a self-guided tour exploring the Nyack places and people connected to extraordinary lives of service, courage, and community.

At the start of the tour, visitors will receive a commemorative map and red bandanna before exploring six meaningful locations throughout Nyack. At each stop, volunteers, firefighters, and local historians will share personal stories and memories that illuminate their extraordinary lives.
The event begins with sign-in at the Historical Society of the Nyacks Museum. The tour is self-guided and is primarily accessible by car. Attendees are encouraged to explore the six locations in the order in which they appear on the map provided. Please spend as much time as you wish at each stop.
The tour runs from 12-3 p.m. Sign-in begins at 11:45 a.m. and ends at 1 p.m. Public parking is available at each location; attendees are asked to park only in legal parking spaces.
The event is free, but space is limited. Registration is required and closes Saturday, September 26 at 6 p.m. Register here.
The tour will conclude at 3 p.m. with a special memorial and commemoration at Empire Hook & Ladder Company #1 in Upper Nyack.
Tour locations include: Nyack High School, Empire Hook & Ladder Co. #1, Grace Church, Oak Hill Cemetery, Memorial Park, and the Depew House.
Rivertown Film Presents: Kansas City

Jazz, crime, race and politics swirl around the story of a desperate attempt to rescue a lover in Kansas City in 1934, the time and place of director Robert Altman’s youth. Mayor Tom “Boss” Pendergast kept the alcohol flowing during prohibition and the illegal gambling easily available from the country clubs to the street corners. Supported by more nightclubs per capita than anywhere else in the country, Kansas City Jazz reverberated through the city and before long it changed the course of American music.
After the film, join us for a discussion with Kansas City Music Producer Steven Bernstein, Craig Handy (who plays Coleman Hawkins), and Producer Matthew Seig.

Hopper’s Nyack Flash Sketch Mob
Saturday, October 10, 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Edward Hopper House, 82 N Broadway, Nyack
Led by Bill Batson, participants will create dynamic and interpretive new views of Nyack. Centered around the locations from the Edward Hopper House’s Walking Tour, artists of all skill levels will create artworks en masse that capture the streetscape, places, sights and people of the village. This project is rooted in the idea that Edward Hopper artistically responded to his environment capturing both the history and contemporary experience of what he saw – so we encourage you to capture the environment through your own creative contemporary lens, too!
Participants must first PRE-REGISTER online, then check in at 10 a.m. in the Garden at the Edward Hopper House Museum to receive a location assignment. They will then disperse with their own art-making materials to sketch in downtown Nyack and around Hopper’s neighborhood. Participants will return to the Museum between 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. to scan and share artwork.
Rivertown Film’s Inspired 2026

People who create are inspirations to us all. But what inspires them? Find out at Rivertown Film’s INSPIRED. Local artists who work in film and video share the sources of their inspiration, each using ten slides and 20 seconds per slide to explain them.
This year, in honor of Rivertown Film’s 25 anniversary, the artists are all involved in the art of motion pictures.
Join us for a fast-paced night of creativity and enjoy the many ways that artists find inspiration. Doors open at 7:00 PM. The program begins at 7:30 PM. Arrive early for a complimentary dessert buffet and to give yourself time to bid on our silent auction and raffle items. Stay afterward and mingle with the artists.

Nyack Street Fair
Sunday, October 11, 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Main St and Broadway, Nyack
A perfect way to spend a fall day in historic Nyack located on the Hudson River. This promises to be the ultimate shopping opportunity to start on your holiday shopping list or for that special item for you. The fair highlights over three hundred exhibitors, from four states, with a diverse array of arts & crafts, new retail items, home decor & unique gifts lining downtown.
In addition to the exciting items on display attendees can indulge in a variety of all kinds of food & drinks ranging from Cousins Lobster truck, Thai, empanadas, sausage & peppers, fried fish, Jamaican & Greek foods. Also French, American and the popular NY Soda Jerks truck with old fashion egg creams & more will be there. Nyack’s outdoor cafes will be offering event specials. Music will be playing at the Gazebo. Do not forget to stop by Nyack’s great shops and unique boutiques.

This Dip is a full day of food trucks, live DJs, and roller skating. Bring your own skates or rent them there. Whether you’re learning, showing off, or just rollin’ easy—there’s a place for you at The Dip. As the sun goes down, we close it all out with a night skate and a special DJ showcase you won’t want to miss!
