Nyack’s USA250 Celebrations from July 2 – July include World Cup-Inspired Fútbol Fest

Thursday, July 2 – Sunday, July 5 – Village Wide

Nyack is THE place to be for the upcoming 4th of July weekend as we celebrate USA250 and Fútbol from July 2nd-July 5th! (Please visit the Village of Nyack website for weather related updates. Whatever you decide to do over July 4th weekend, stay hydrated.)

Thursday, July 2

Because of forecasted excessive heat, the 250 customer appreciation hot dog give-away at the Nyack Farmers Market will be postponed until July 9th.

Enjoy a Classic Car Show beginning at 6 p.m. for all ages that will include live music, world class dining & shopping, and then a family friendly outdoor screening of the movie Cars in the in Memorial Park at 9 p.m.

Friday, July 3

Nyack will be in full swing all day.

— Take a walk down to the upper level of Memorial Park where we’ll be transforming it into a Kids’ Freedom Zone featuring bounce houses, games & free treats for the kiddos from 1 to 5 p.m.!

— From 1:30 to 2:30 p.m., downtown Nyack will feature live music, a reading of the Declaration of Independence, a time capsule & more!

— Head back down to Memorial park as the BIG SWING TIME BAND takes the stage at 7 p.m.!

— And be sure to stick around for our spectacular fireworks show at approximately 9:15 p.m. overlooking the Hudson!

Sunday, July 5

Score a game winner and end your weekend on a high note at Nyack’s own Global Rhythms Fútbol Fest, sponsored by Rockland County Government and I LOVE NEW YORK in partnership with the Nyack Chamber of Commerce, Visit Nyack and the Village of Nyack.

— Check out the kids’ games and skills demos in Hezekiah Easter Park from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. including a visit from former LA Galaxy and Team USA player Kyle Martino and a book signing from Nyack author and sports historian Chris Barish of his graphic book about the most decorated soccer player in history, Lionel Messi.

— Bring your two step, or learn how to, and join the dancing with dance lessons on South Broadway at Hudson Street from noon – 6 p.m.

— Get a taste of what Nyack’s renowned restaurant scene has to offer on one of our organized food crawls!

— Join in on the soccer fanfare by catching a game at one of the watch parties in Nyack’s amazing downtown through Sunday, July 19.

One of the oldest continuously performing arts organizations in Rockland County performs An American Vista. Admission: $15 (includes music and light refreshments)

Penguin Rep Theatre Presents The Heart Sellers

Starting July 9, Penguin Rep Theatre presents Lloyd Suh’s The Heart Sellers, a “laugh-aloud love letter to friendship” (Broadway World). Step back to 1973 – Soul Train, Watergate, Disney World – when two recent newcomers to the U.S. meet by chance in the supermarket just before Thanksgiving. While their medical-resident husbands work through the night, the young women share stories about their new lives … and how to cook a frozen turkey. Filled with heart and humor, The Heart Sellers explores what it takes to make a new home.

Nyack Street Fair

Sunday, July 12, 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Main Street and Broadway, Nyack

Get ready for the ultimate shopping and dining day at the Nyack Famous Street Fair. It is a perfect summer event with over three hundred exhibitors from five states, with an excellent selection of arts and crafts, new retail items, unique gifts, home décor and festival foods.  

Shoppers can view a wide selection of handmade items including pottery, art, hand crafted jewelry, clothing, soaps, candles, photography, fiber to woodworkers, mixed media and more will be on display.  Also, great retail booths featuring apparel, jewelry, children’s, garden items, toys, signs, home décor offer a great variety of unique shopping experiences.

Festival food favorites will be on hand with all kinds of delicious food and drinks including Cousins Lobster truck, empanadas, Italian, Greek, Jamaican, Latin, Thai, Mexican, Zeppoles, American, and more.  Nyack’s outdoor cafes will be offering specials. Be sure to visit the many interesting boutique shops lining downtown. Music will be played in the gazebo.  

The fair has been sponsored by ACADA of Nyack for over 50 years.  Held rain or shine. No pets please.
