The Villages: Santa Time, Park Fee Free Saturdays

This week in the villages: It’s already time to put out plates of cookies. Santa will take time out of his busy pre-Christmas schedule to visit Nyack on Saturday at the village’s annual Holiday Lights celebration. Holiday shoppers will get a present from the Village of Nyack with free parking every weekend through December 31. Nyack Hospital will give an update on the Care Transformation Project and your input is needed at a public workshop on proposed changes to parking along Sixth Avenue. There are still two more sessions to learn about the health insurance options available under the New York State of Health plans.

New York State

Assemblywoman Ellen Jaffee will be partnering with New York State of Health for a series of Health Insurance Information Sessions. A New York State of Health representative will provide an overview of health insurance options. Community Health Advocates and local Marketplace Navigators will be present to answer questions and provide resources.
“Letting people know about coverage through the marketplace and helping them enroll in coverage is not only the right thing to do, it’s the smart thing to do because it brings healthier people into the insurance market,” said NY State of Health Executive Director Donna Frescatore.
The two remaining sessions are Sat Dec 2 at the Nyack Library (59 S Broadway, Nyack) from 11a – 1p and Sat Dec 9 at the Finkelstein Memorial Library (24 Chestnut St, Spring Valley) from 2p – 4p.
These events are free and open to the public. Call 845-624-4601 or email jaffeee@nyassembly.gov to RSVP.
