Picture This: News and Events of 2012

With a space shuttle fly by, a Flash Sketch Mob, a N. Broadway fire and a year-round Farmer’s Market, it was a year of firsts. And then we had a hurricane.

On Apr 27, the Space Shuttle Enterprise made a U-Turn in the skies above Nyack on its way to a landing at JFK Airport.

The Nyack Marketing Association, a coalition of downtown merchants, businessses and non-profits, created a new design for a “brand new Nyack” to complement the completion of the Main Street streetscape project.

xyzzyOn June 21 a gas main break sent flames 25 feet into the air at the corner of N. Broadway and First Avenue. As many as 2500 homes were without power briefly.
