Gas Main Replacement
Orange & Rockland Utilities is replacing the gas main on Piermont Avenue and Spear Street, from Main Street to Cedar Hill Avenue. In addition to the gas main, all individual gas service lines to all the homes and buildings on these streets will be replaced. The paving and sidewalk rebuilding is slated to be completed in the Spring of 2018. Orange & Rockland was delayed months in the start of their work. Time is needed to allow for any settling of the road surface prior to milling and paving the road. It is the intention of the Village of Nyack to rebuild Piermont Avenue, including village-owned sidewalks, once this work is complete–from Cedar Hill Avenue to Main Street.
