It’s the First Friday of January and there’s a wintry mix of art, music and outdoor fun heading your way. The Nyack Art Collective hosts a group exhibit with live music and an origami demo. The music line-up includes the NY JazzHarmonic, funk, classic rock and classical piano. Embrace the chill with a 4-mile run/walk to benefit The Nyack Hunger Coalition, or ice skate and or bird watch. First Friday
Time for Nyack’s monthly one-night downtown arts festival. The First Friday of January kicks off at Casa del Sol at 8p with a group exhibit and live music by Sam and Zoey Bandes. Presented by the Nyack Art Collective. 104 Main St, Nyack.

Revive your New Year’s resolution with The Nyack Hunger Coalition’s Resolution Run. Take part in the 4-mile run, walk or stroll in Nyack to raise funds and awareness for 10 non-profits that address hunger and homelessness in our community. - Snow what? Minnewaska State Park is offering free snow shoeing lessons. A Sam’s Point Ranger will show you how to adjust, wear and walk in snowshoes before you head out to your favorite trail. The Historical Society of Rockland County presents Let It Snow: Holiday Exhibition that explores wintertime in Rockland. From the commercial impact of the ice-cutting industry to extreme weather and the adventure of outdoor winter activities, this exhibition includes film footage, photographs and art installations.
