TZ Bridge Work, Week of Nov 26

Nyack Nov 26 — South Nyack’s entrance ramp to the Tappan Zee Bridge on South Broadway will be closed each night this week to permit deck replacement work to continue on the TZB.  The Exit 10 Thruway entrance will be closed from 8p-6a Mon-Thu and from 9p-6a on Friday. There will also be lane closures each weeknight to allow the roadway to be replaced on the middle three lanes on the Tappan Zee Bridge. During the nighttime operations, 20-minute traffic stoppages will take place in both the northbound and southbound directions.

Here’s the day by day detail from the NYS Thruway Authority:

Monday, November 26 through Wednesday, November 28
Work will begin at 8 p.m. resulting in the closure of two left southbound lanes and an additional left southbound lane at 11 p.m. until 6 a.m. on the Tappan Zee Bridge. In addition, this will result in the closure of one left northbound lane at 8 p.m. and an additional left northbound lane at 11 p.m. until 6 a.m., also on the Tappan Zee Bridge. At least one lane southbound will be opened to traffic from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. and one lane northbound will be opened to traffic from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.

During Monday through Wednesday night operations, due to the southbound lane closures, the southbound entrance at Exit 10 South Nyack will be closed from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. and southbound detour route signs will be posted through Nyack for the entrance at Route 59 near Exit 11.

During Monday through Wednesday night operations, due to the northbound lane closures, the entrance ramp from Broadway southbound in Tarrytown will also be closed from 8 p.m. until 6 a.m. All traffic will be detoured to the entrance ramp from Route 119.

Thursday, November 29
Work will begin at 8 p.m. resulting in the closure of two left southbound lanes and an additional left southbound lane at 11 p.m. until 6 a.m. on the Tappan Zee Bridge. In addition, this will result in the closure of one left northbound lane at 10 p.m. and an additional left northbound lane at 12 midnight until 6 a.m., also on the Tappan Zee Bridge. At least one lane southbound will be opened to traffic from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. and one lane northbound will be opened to traffic from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Friday, November 30
Work will begin at 9 p.m. resulting in the closure of two left southbound lanes and an additional left southbound lane at 12 midnight until 6 a.m. on the Tappan Zee Bridge. In addition, this will result in the closure of one left northbound lane at 10 p.m. and an additional left northbound lane at 12 midnight until 6 a.m., also on the Tappan Zee Bridge. At least one lane southbound will be opened to traffic from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m. and one lane northbound will be opened to traffic from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m.

All lanes will be opened to traffic in both directions by 7 a.m. on Saturday.

During Friday night operations, due to the southbound lane closures, the southbound entrance at Exit 10 will be closed from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. and southbound detour route signs will be posted through Nyack for the entrance at Route 59 near Exit 11.

During Friday night operations, due to the northbound lane closures, the entrance ramp from Broadway southbound in Tarrytown will also be closed from 10 p.m. until 7 a.m. All traffic will be detoured to the entrance ramp from Route 119.

Saturday, December 1 and Sunday, December 2
No work scheduled.
